About the Role
The position is responsible for providing legal support for HARMAN’s Automotive global organization focusing on HARMAN’s sales and operations, including support for the Customer Account Management (“CAM”), local direct and indirect procurement. In addition, he/she will also support all SBUs of Automotive division and corporate functions, including the finance, human resources, sales and/or supply chain functions.
The position requires the ability to handle complex negotiations, deliver timely legal support and conduct critical assignments with minimal supervision. The position demands a broad understanding of HARMAN’s business, internal stakeholders and the impact of external factors on key business functions, along with senior‑level experience in drafting and negotiating high‑value automotive contracts. The role serves as a trusted legal partner to business leaders, providing commercially focused, risk‑mitigating advice, overseeing external counsel, and supporting complex operational priorities through strong executive communication, cross‑functional leadership, and financial insight.
What You Will Do
- Lead the review, drafting, and negotiation of a wide variety of commercial agreements and amendments, applying strong commercial judgment to drive optimal commercial outcomes.
- Serve as a trusted legal advisor embedded within Automotive business teams, providing practical, solution‑oriented legal guidance in a fast‑paced environment.
- Support and continuously enhance the Automotive contract strategy, RFQ processes, including updating and maintaining RFQ offer templates and negotiation frameworks.
- Support resolution of commercial disputes with customers and suppliers, including managing litigation, arbitration, and mediation matters, while overseeing budgets to ensure the efficient use of internal and external legal resources.
- Partner with local and functional leadership to influence strategic decisions, support complex projects, and address critical business issues.
- Contribute to the scaling and optimization of commercial legal processes through standardized templates, playbooks, training, and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Prepare and conduct training for managers and employees on relevant legal topics.
- Assisting with corporate, MD&A, and other legal matters as requested.
What You Need to Be Successful
- Law Degree from a reputable law school with PRC bar admission.
- 6–9 years of relevant legal experience, preferably combining well-regarded law firm and in‑house roles, including at least 5 years’ experience in automotive industry supporting commercial and technology matters involving automotive OEMs.
- Deep expertise in drafting and negotiating complex domestic and international commercial agreements.
- Strong executive‑level communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
- Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of projects, prioritize multiple tasks and respond promptly to shifting priorities.
- Strong analytical, project management, and problem‑solving skills, capable of influencing business decisions and serving as a trusted resource to stakeholders and less experienced colleagues, and exercise sound judgment in fast‑paced environments.

Dependent on the position offered, other forms of compensation are also available, such as bonuses or commission.
Pay is based on a wide range of factors, including, without limitation, skill set, experience, training, location, and business need. While the above range is a reasonable estimate of the wage range for this position, please note the disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographical differential associated with the location where the position may be filled.
