About the Role
As a test development engineer, you will contribute to the development of test systems for Harman products, including test rack commissioning for release, test rack operation for projects, test rack maintenance in technical and financial. Explore new test technologies/method based on local trend of market, especially for readiness for new technologies before test running of customer projects.
Also, you will collaborate with other global teams for more smart test tools development.
What You Will Do
Based on product R&D and mass production requirements, break down and identify testing needs, and develop standardized testing requirements to provide accurate input for the development of product reliability testing systems.
Establish a systematic product testing knowledge framework based on the product architecture of IC and CCU, as well as the hardware architecture, functional characteristics, and industry testing standards of related products.
Proactively develop standardized testing specifications and technical solutions to positively guide stakeholders, thereby unifying the team’s testing criteria and technical understanding.
Test rack manufacturing: work on automatic test racks, including the design and manufacturing of test racks and functional modules; integrated hardware and software testing; data deviation analysis and troubleshooting; identifying test system compatibility issues; and continuously iterating to optimize test stability and efficiency.
Test rack SW development/deployment for all products, test rack commissioning and releasing. Software development and framework maintenance, with a focus on automating testing processes and achieving high reusability of test scripts.
Collaborate with R&D, and project teams to support testing and development tasks—including new product launches, version updates, specialized validation, and test data analysis—to ensure the smooth delivery of project milestones.
What You Need to Be Successful
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or Automotive Engineering.
5+ years of hands-on experience in the design, build, commissioning, release, and lifecycle maintenance of customized automated test systems, preferably for automotive electronics, audio, acoustic, infotainment, or validation applications. Experienced in test rack architecture definition, functional module integration, equipment selection, system bring-up, stability improvement, and long-term operational support.
Demonstrated proficiency in automotive communication protocols, including CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet, with practical experience in protocol configuration, signal-level debugging, bus analysis, fault diagnosis, and validation support for automotive electronic control units.
Solid knowledge of automotive digital audio and related in-vehicle technologies, including SPDIF and A2B, with hands-on experience supporting audio signal verification, interface debugging, and system-level validation. Familiarity with broadcast technologies and GNSS technologies such as AM, FM, DAB, and GPS.
Hands-on experience in automotive ECU testing, validation, and troubleshooting, including test setup preparation, issue reproduction, diagnostic data collection, root-cause investigation, and verification of corrective actions in both development and validation environments.
Bonus Points if You Have
Experience designing, developing, or maintaining databases for test data management, traceability, automated reporting, and engineering dashboard applications. Able to structure data for long-term analysis, improve data accessibility, and support efficient review of test results and system performance. SQL experience is preferred.
Hands-on experience in electronic circuit design, schematic review, board-level debugging, and hardware failure analysis. Able to identify electrical or design-related root causes, support corrective actions, and contribute to robust hardware implementation for automated test systems and functional test modules.
Hands-on experience with Intelligent Cockpit and/or Central Computing Unit (CCU) products is preferred, including familiarity with product architecture, hardware and software interfaces, functional validation requirements, system integration, issue debugging, and typical automotive application scenarios.
