About the Role

Senior Electrical Engineer II, electrical architecture design, leading ODM/OEM to finish electrical related design from product concept to mass production

Your Team

This position will report to Senior Manager, Electrical Engineering

What You Will Do

  • Work Responsible for design of Electrical on component or module level, based on design specifications in accordance with the functional specifications.
  • Carry out feasibility study on new products against requirements, define an EE feasible architecture/concept and create a realistic development plan.
  • Ensure product quality from ODM/OEM meets Harman standard and requirements, comply Harman documentation structure, standards and design rules in project execution.
  • Train and coach junior engineers to achieve high level of technical competence.

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent
  • 10+ years of working experience in design, development, and manufacturing of consumer electronic products (like portable speakers, party speakers, FM/DAB speakers, soundbar speakers and so on related audio/video products). This position will focus on party speakers and portable speakers.
  • Be able to lead technical discussion/project with technology partners. Perform system architectural design independently. Understand system design and performance tradeoff across multiple functional disciplines.
  • Be able to make decisions with little or no guidance. Anticipates most issues and provides timely feedback to management. 
  • Be able to propose and lead execution of potential solutions on BU challenges and the emerging needs. Lead investigation on Audio/Video-industry technology and platform with application to Harman products.
  • Can independently lead innovation brainstorm session with fellow engineers. Publish technical paper on industry conference or file high-quality patent disclosures. be able to commercially realize invented technology or innovative ideas.
  • Has strong communication skills with clients, suppliers, ODMs and other department members.
  • Excellent insight of marketing/competitor products analysis. Drive cost saving initiative that makes sense for the business. 
  • Excellent foundation on electrical architecture design for BT/WiFi SoC system.
  • Excellent foundation on amplifier, DSP (Dolby Digital, DTS, Atmos and other audio algorithms), BT, WIFI, FM/DAB, DLNA, HDMI and so on audio/video design.
  • Excellent foundation on DC/DC buck, booster, charging, battery and power adaptor in system design
  • Experience in integrating and troubleshooting RF (2.4G, 5G and 6G) in an A/V environment.
  • Proficient in the use of electronic test equipment (Digital analyzers, oscilloscopes, spectrum and network analyzers).
  • Familiar with electronic schematic capture, layout and electronic simulation software tools.
  • Familiar with IEC, EIA, EIAJ formats and UL, CSA, IEC safety standards
  • Fluent listening, speaking, reading and writing in English.

What is Nice to Have

  • Chipset design experience (FPGA/CPLD, Verilog language)
  • Hardware design experience of DSP
