Description & Requirements

What You Will Do:

  • Research and develop new acoustic algorithms or solutions to make Harman Products unique, including but not limited to guitar effect (AMP and Cab modeling, Overdrive, Reverb), howling suppression.
  • Sound performance tuning on guitar effector of the Guitar AMP.
  • Build/Improve Guitar AMP performance evaluation method and process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including acoustic engineers, software engineers, product managers, and UX designers, to integrate audio algorithms into our products and ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct research and stay up to date with the latest advancements in audio signal processing, machine learning, and related fields to identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Analyze and process large datasets to evaluate and improve the performance of audio algorithms.
  • Optimize algorithms for real-time processing, ensuring low latency and high efficiency.
  • Participate in code reviews, ensuring high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code.

What You Need:

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in Acoustic, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with a strong focus on audio signal processing or machine learning.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in developing audio algorithms or related field.
  • Strong understanding of digital signal processing concepts, including filtering, transforms, and time-frequency analysis.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, and MATLAB.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to develop innovative solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

What Is Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with audio hardware, including microphones, speakers, and audio interfaces.
  • Knowledge of psychoacoustics and the human auditory system.
  • Contributions to open-source audio projects or active participation in the audio technology community.
  • Publications or patents related to audio signal processing or machine learning applied to audio.
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques, such as deep learning and neural networks, applied to audio processing.
  • Golden Ears Certification
  • Music related background

What Makes You Eligible

  • Willingness to travel 5% of the time.
  • Willingness to work in an office in Shenzhen.
  • Willingness to submit to a background screen and a drug test.

Dependent on the position offered, other forms of compensation are also available, such as bonuses or commission.

Pay is based on a wide range of factors, including, without limitation, skill set, experience, training, location, and business need. While the above range is a reasonable estimate of the wage range for this position, please note the disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographical differential associated with the location where the position may be filled.
