  • Unite your passion for audio innovation with high-tech product development
  • Create pitch-perfect, cutting-edge technology that elevates the listening experience

About the Role

The Principal DSP Engineer role is a pivotal position focused on architecture, developing, and optimizing cutting-edge microphone systems for applications in conference systems, smart speakers, soundbars, and microphone arrays. This role directly impacts the business by driving innovation in voice and audio technologies, ensuring superior audio quality and performance that enhances user experience and differentiates our products in the market. The position also involves leading key technologies such as beamforming, wind noise resistance, and voice architecture, while collaborating closely with hardware and algorithm teams to integrate and debug microphone systems, ensuring seamless product development from concept to production.

What You Will Do

  • Design, develop, and optimize microphone systems, including hardware selection, acoustic design, and signal processing.
  • Lead research and implementation of key technologies such as microphone arrays, wind noise resistance, and voice architecture.
  • Collaborate with hardware and mechanical teams to integrate and debug microphone systems.
  • Solve key technical challenges in projects and provide innovative solutions.
  • Track industry trends and promote the team's technical capabilities.
  • Develop coding standards and guide team members in their development tasks.

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in Acoustics, Electronic Engineering, Signal Processing, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Over 12 years of experience in microphone design, development, or application, focusing on conference systems, smart speakers, soundbars, microphone arrays, wind noise resistance, and voice architecture.
  • Ability to rapidly design microphone architectures for new products, including hardware selection, acoustic design, and signal processing solutions.
  • Experience in leading or participating in the design, debugging, and optimization of complex microphone systems, with the ability to rapidly design microphone architectures for new product development.
  • Proficient in designing and optimizing microphone arrays, including linear, circular, and distributed arrays.
  • Familiar with beamforming, direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation, and acoustic field analysis.
  • Extensive experience in wind noise resistance design, addressing wind noise issues through hardware design (e.g., mechanical structures, wind noise shielding) and algorithm optimization (e.g., wind noise detection and suppression).
  • Ability to design efficient voice capture and process architectures based on product requirements, ensuring high audio quality, low latency, and strong interference resistance.
  • Rich experience in debugging complex voice devices such as conference systems and smart speakers, addressing issues like far-field voice capture, echo cancellation, and noise suppression.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with hardware teams, mechanical teams, acoustic teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to independently design and debug complex systems.
  • Technical leadership to mentor junior engineers.
  • Proficient in English, with the ability to read and write technical documents fluently.

Bonus Points if You Have

  • Experience in applying machine learning or deep learning in voice processing (e.g., voice recognition, sound source localization).
  • Contributions to open-source projects or technical blogs demonstrating technical depth and influence.
  • Published patents or papers in relevant fields.

What Makes You Eligible

  • Willingness to work in an office and be willing to travel up to 10%, domestic and international travel
  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen
