About the Role

Interface with the Regional and Global CVM functions, while maintaining necessary communications with Global Program Management and Product Engineering teams to ensure that required and necessary hardware qualification activities are included in project plans and that all necessary activities occur.  Main external customer contact for validation status and issues. Interact with Global HW validation teams, sharing and developing regional best practices and procedures.  Provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff, while keeping up with changing trends in specifications, tools, and measurement techniques.  Investigates and Informs management team of any systemic issues within processes or procedures that could cause quality concerns and/or customer dissatisfaction.

What You Will Do

  • Develops, reviews, negotiates, and updates test plans and reports while looking for continuous improvement opportunities and obtaining internal and external acceptance.
  • Interface with the global CPM and product engineering group and/or OEM as necessary to ensure that all necessary qualification activities are included in the project plan(s) and that all planned qualification activities occur in time and quality.
  • Assists in technical troubleshooting at component and/or vehicle level with customer(s) as needed.
  • Stay informed of new customer specifications, business trends, and make recommendations of new equipment needs and requirements.
  • Lead, design, develop, implement, and verify new ENV test methods/tools as necessary, including automation where practical and technically sound.
  • Lead / support troubleshooting lab and project issues.
  • Interface and support Harman quality organizations to ensure all qualification issues are resolved in a timely manner while maintaining involvement with global quality and laboratory initiatives.
  • Lead / maintain lesson learned discussions including proper management of information (i.e., Confluence/JIRA/other).
  • Completes related duties as assigned by the manager.

What You Need to Be Successful

  • 8+ years HW qualification or related experience, automotive industry background and supervisory experience highly desirable.
  • Advanced knowledge of automotive components such as amplifiers/radios/tuners, telematics, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, and/or LCD/LED Displays.
  • Competent with vehicle communication protocols (LIN, CAN, Ethernet, etc.) and working knowledge of computer languages (C/C++, Lab View (NI), Python, etc.).
  • Demonstrate proficiency in statistical, quality and continuous improvement methods and Tools.

Bonus Points if You Have

  • Worked within an ISO-17025 accredited organization.
  • Advanced test solutions knowledge for automotive industries, including understanding and proficiency on how to use specific lab equipment (data acquisition systems, oscilloscope, multi-meter, spectrum analyzer, digital analysis tools, machine tools, soldering equipment, etc.).
  • Connection with external organizations within Automotive or Quality domains.
