About the Role

This role will have a passion for sustainability and a proven understanding of Eco- packaging materials, structural design, reduction, retrieval, recycling, and print processes. The job holder will lead the validation of packaging materials that represent new trend and support the packaging team to achieve greater focus on sustainability and innovation in the years to come.  He/she can collaborate packaging sustainability and bring excitement to Harman about the sustainability eco-packaging important subject. And this job holder will be responsible for Packaging related Regulation/Compliance requirement, such as strategies, policies, analyzing the latest policies and trends related to Sustainability packaging and green certificates. This will include the scope of applicability, compliance, trading, market distribution, price forecasting, corporate applications etc.

What You Will Do

  • Make the sustainability of eco-packaging roadmap based on Harman company top strategy, participate in the growth of sustainability program, manage the execution of key commitments and track progress towards the targeted goals.
  • Identify new packaging technologies and industrial materials network that will help bring packaging sustainability optimization.
  • Support and work with highly cross-functional teams, including BU, Designer, Operations, Engineers, and other associates, on developing and defining packaging expectations during the NPI process.
  • Lead the validation and implementation of packaging materials that represent a new technology or material.
  • Understand the sustainability goals and initiatives of strategic packaging materials suppliers.
  • Train and share with PS team and even the cross-function department of the Sustainability of eco-packaging domain knowledge.
  • Study packaging Carbon Footprint LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) management and improve to benefit our product packaging design.
  • Handle NTI and NPI projects which close to the new packaging material development.
  • Handle Packaging related Regulation/Compliance requirement.

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Material Science, Packaging Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Sustainability related areas - at least three years in leadership roles in packaging sustainability.
  • Proven track record of being innovative as well as possessing strong communication, project management, and leadership skills, while performing in a fast paced, regulatory environment.
  • Awareness of best practices in sustainable packaging, including knowledge of regulations, laws, and guidelines.
  • Solid practices in packaging engineering includes concept layout, material, and process implementation.

Bonus Points if You Have

  • Packaging design, cost and Reliability Test experience.
  • Fluent spoken English skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proactive, result-oriented, and practical.
  • Able to adapt to changing demands and conditions.
  • Providing exceptional service and quality to external and internal customer.
