About the Role
We are seeking a talented and motivated Principal Embedded Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded software development and audio technology with a passion for creating high-quality audio experiences and will be responsible for defining the software platforms, technical roadmap, developing innovative solutions, and collaborating with project teams to create audio solutions.
Your Team
This role will be responsible for working with the technology platforms team.
What You Will Do
Principal Software Embedded Engineer will be a member of the Engineering R&D software team, working on the software architecture / framework design for audio products. Collaborating with team on the high-level design to meet the business goals in terms of time, quality, and cost. Keep track of the latest technological update of connectivity technology. Collaborate with other professionals efficiently and clearly to develop technical requirement for software system or applications. Work on the software architecture or high-level design with end-to-end solution to meet platform requirements. Provide technical guidance to the team in software design, architecture and implementation. Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, modularity, extensibility, certification, etc.
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Audio Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of hands-on development experience in driver / middleware / application based on embedded Linux systems in the Consumer Electronic industry, proficient with programming C/C++
- 3+ years of experience in software architecture design of embedded systems in the consumer industry
- Proven experience in audio software and hardware platform development.
- Deep knowledge of communication protocols between services, such as WebSocket, MQTT, and Bonefish
- Experience in the optimization of air-interface protocols to meet product requirements.
- Experience with real-time audio DSP libraries and frameworks.
- Familiarity with audio codecs, streaming protocols, and audio file formats.
- Knowledge of audio hardware interfaces (e.g., I2S, SPDIF, USB, HDMI).
- Experience with machine learning techniques applied to audio.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
What is Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Audio Engineering, or a related field
- Overall 12+ years of engineering experience with 10+ years of technical management
- Software design/architecture patterns knowledge. Experience in firmware development, skillful debugging, and issue/performance analysis with wireless protocol analyzers.
- Multi-radio coexistence management experience, and a solid understanding of wireless connectivity protocols and standards.
- Demonstrated business acumen with ability to engage with partners, whether customers or vendors at strategic level
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
