About the Role

As RF expert in Hardware team, he/she will be responsible for the RF related design for Connectivity Products (Space) and Customer projects with the support from internal cross-function team members and external suppliers, co-work with internal project management team to ensure the quality, stability and profitability of hardware design.

What You Will Do

• Responsible for RF Front End design, simulation and performance verification on component level and car level. Including (not limit to) wireless function blocks (WIFI, Bluetooth, GNSS, UWB, 2G/3G/LTE/5G, V2X...).
• Responsible for the RF performance tuning and verification to ensure the compliance with the related industry standard (GCF, PTCRB, Wi-Fi5/6/7, Bluetooth 5.x, C-V2X R14 etc.) and the specific requirement from customers (Car OEM) or MNOs (Mobile Network Operator).
• Analyze Car OEMs’ wireless requirement spec during RFQ phase and come out the RF front end solution concept.
• Follow up the wireless technology evolution by working closely with Wireless/RF chipset suppliers and do evaluation/benchmark internally to obtain the up-to-date knowledge and predict the technology trend.  
• Work together with antenna engineers to ensure the OTA results are good by solving the De-sense problem from PCBA.
• According to the use cases, define the co-existence test scenarios when multiple wireless technologies are working in parallel, come out the co-existence solution when mutual interference is found.
• Aim for WoW. Work together with HW Program manager to define the RF part development schedule and commitment of delivery with good performance. Regular report to HW PM to show the RF design status and issues as Team2 member.
• Embrace collective intelligence. Leverage the technical strength from suppliers/partners to ensure the design quality, like the joint design review, joint validation with our use cases, cross checking on EVKs etc.  
• Work with HW Qualification team to ensure the product compliant with regulation and customer reliability requirement
• Work with Advanced manufacturing team to ensure the design fits production and support them define the manufacturing test specification.
• Support the ODM suppliers who design and produce wireless products for Harman. Review technical reports and verify/qualify samples in each sample phase.
• Support the RF related failures found from manufacturing plants or in the field.
• Purpose Driven. Quickly adapt the fast-changing local environment and short notice change request from local customers, ensure the RF related tasks finished with high efficiency and priorities.
• Willing to change and act like owner. Passion to challenge the technical boundaries to come with innovative design.
• Ensure the development cost is within or less than the planned cost and engineering efforts.

What You Need

• More than 10 years’ experience in HW development with wireless application like 4G/5G Cellular, BT/WIFI/GNSS, C-V2X including entire flow from concept, development and certification.
• Bachelor’s or master’s Degree with RF major.
• Technical side, familiar with the major stream RF technology and components (PA, Switch, Filter) , familiar with the major modem Chipset platform and modular internal RF Front-End architecture designs if module is used, familiar with the 3Gpp standard, frequency band allocation in different region and different network operators globally and keep tracking/monitoring the update.
• Fluent English communication by phone or E-mail.

What is Nice to Have

• Experience on automotive development process, and qualification standards.
• Nice to have the experience of antenna design and validation on latest generation mobile phones.
• Nice to have the experience of GCF/PTCRB and MNO certification (both conductive and OTA).
• Soft skills like good presentation, influence without authority, trust and transparency for better team work, etc.
