About the Role

This position is within HARMAN’s Corporate Division, Major design the speaker soft and motor parts, and all mechanical parts connected with vehicle interface. Also, support new speaker product manufacture and new production process improvement.

You have ability to manage a mechanical group to work with X-functional team to ensure the project and product delivery.

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for car audio Mechanical design and analysis, development, prototyping, verification, validation and improvement. Work closely with other team members, includes PM, Transducer Engineer, Manufacturing, Suppliers, Quality Assurance departments to drive successful project and product delivery to meeting timing, cost and quality, prepare technical reports and presentation.
  • Develop product concepts and design car Audio Transducer product.  Create 3D models, assembly drawings and component drawings of product design.
  • Conduct simulation, stack-up analysis, build prototype, conduct design verification and do DFMEA and lessons learn process. Develops plans to validate the robustness of product designs.
  • Develop solutions under consideration of functional, performance, production and economic standpoints within the scope of specified concepts.
  • Drive global RFI/Q support activities. Leading family speaker successfully applied to global projects.
  • Follow PLM design cycle for gate review, change management.
  • Lead ME to solve the mechanical development problems.
  • Summary the expertise experience& LL & design guideline, BPs and share to the TEAM.
  • Support function manager to set up and coach ME to be high performance team.
  • Drive effective cost design and robust design in new speaker products.

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • At least 12+ years of Mechanical design.
  • Very good mechanical design capability and plastic cost analysis skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, particularly in English.
  • Ability to work effectively within a matrix environment.

What is Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree majoring in Mechanical, or other related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of related ME experience in AUTOMOTIVE mechanical design.
  • Team management experience & Project management experience
  • Detail oriented demonstrated ability from theoretical to implementation-based thinking.
  • Background in major automotive speakers such as GM, TOYOTA, VW, BMW, Mercedes…
